The 2022-2023 NBA season wrapped last week and saw us cash realllllly nicely on the Nuggets (more on this below). As always, I am all about transparency so wanted to make sure I got out a recap for the season even if it was more abbreviated than we all hoped.
Thank you!!
First I just want to say thank you!!! I know I can be verbose but hopefully you have had some fun and made some money with me this NBA season. Yes, I stopped doing day-to-day picks at some point in the middle of the season and I know folks were some amount of worried, angry, frustrated or some combo of those. I apologize for that but all in all, we turned a profit of 16.2u this year and that puts us at 87.4u of profit over the last three seasons on basketball.
Hopefully, you have seen how consistent bankroll management and taking calculated risks allowed us to slowly but surely build a really nice return.
Season Recap - Detailed
I look at gambling as similar to investing in the stock market. I view it as taking my money and applying it to a portfolio of risk that will hopefully produce gains. Some will win. Some will lose. My hope is that over the course of a set time period, I will produce a return that is more than I could get in the stock market.
If you started the NBA season with $10k and were doing $100 per unit then you ended the year with close to $1,620 for a return of 16%. That is something I am thrilled with and proud of and I hope you were able to get on board.
As I mentioned above, we had a nice, albeit abbreviated, year to put us up 87.4u of profit for the three years I have been doing this. Now, you might say 16u wasn’t that great of a year this year but I was pretty happy with it given that had a few rough parts of the season and took a giant break in the middle…….and at least we didn’t have a disaster like last year’s V2.0!
Obviously the big highlight and the majority of our returns this year were generated by the Denver Nuggets. How big of a help were they? The Nuggets making the finals and winning it accounted for over 14 units of our profit!
Even if the picks were uneven across the season and I took a major break, that I know folks were angry about, I hope you were able to have a bit of fun and able to cash some tickets with me.
What’s next
As I have said in the past, once the NBA season wraps up I use the summer to spend time with family, relax, read, and enjoy sports that I do not personally handicap well enough to publicly give picks (looking at you UFC and MLB) and, eventually, start my prep for football season.
As such, you will not be hearing THAT much from me until I start to get into NFL Futures bets for the year. I will still have PGA Tour action and I may pop in from time to time to drop some thoughts (e.g., maybe some notable horse races like the Haskell) I have some ideas for some articles to share, but generally, I’ll be posting once or twice a week until the end of the summer.
I am still working on exactly what NFL will look like, but my hope is to have that figured out in the next few weeks!
Where to find me
Well, if you are looking for me between now and NFL season, the best place to look is either by email, Twitter DM, or on the FREE Gamblers Paradise Discord where I hang out pretty much every day talking about sports and gambling and we have guys sharing their views on betting for all sorts of sports!
I truly hope you will come to hang out!
