2021-2022 PGA Tour Performance
The PGA Tour’s wrap around season ended yesterday at the TOUR Championship and what a way to go out! That was amazing golf and drama. As I always do I wanted to make sure I recapped exactly how this season went, but first:
Thank you!!
I really want to say thank you to those who came along for this ride!!! I know my posts can be super wordy but hopefully you have had some fun and made some money with me this PGA Tour season.
This was my first PGA Tour season and there were definitely ups and down, but hopefully you have seen how consistent bankroll management, realizing when things aren’t working, making adjustments and taking calculated risks allowed us to slowly but surely build a really nice return.
Quo Vadimus?
My bosses have always thought I was strange (for a myriad of reasons) for the fact that when it comes time to do performance reviews I am incredibly uninterested in actually discussing my performance, but rather discuss the upcoming year.
To me looking backwards is fine, but that has happened already and I want to know - to steal a line from Aaron Sorkin - Quo Vadimus?
As I mentioned in my TOUR Championship newsletter, I will be starting my tear down and rebuild of my calcs in anticipation of the new PGA Tour calendar which starts Sept 15th with the Fortinet Championship.
One of the first things I will do is an analysis of what worked and what didn’t work for V2.0 and try to clean some of that up. Additionally, my picks are only as good as I am so things like understanding why T20 picks were more profitable than T10’s.
All in all, you will not hear much from me related to golf in the next few weeks BUT I will have tons of NFL content coming your way with the season starting next week AND I will be back to cover golf once the season starts again!
Season Recap
Boy what a season it was. Given this was my first season with golf coverage there were some definite growing pains and while v1.0 of my picks started with some ups, there were mostly downs1 costing us about 16 units over that time span.
As I talked about in my Gambling Lessons Learned series Part 2 and Part 3, I was tracking every bet and working to understand the WHY. Why was a I winning and more importantly Why was I losing. I thought I found some answers and then relaunched and the difference was immediate!
We started off super hot with 8 straight weeks of profits, highlighted by back-to-back-to-back outright winners of 65-1 (the Memorial), 10-1 (RBC Canadian Open), and 50-1 (US Open). No matter what Twitter Touts tell you, it is impossible to win every bet and every week and we had a bit of a cooling off as can be seen by the chart above.
While the performance tailed off after the hot start, I am still reallllllly proud of the results we had and I am hopeful that with a few adjustments we can keep killing it when the new season starts!
If you had a fun or profitable season with me, I hope you will come back for NFL season which starts next week! I put out my NFL Futures picks earlier this week and will have what my content will look like in an upcoming post.
Support if you can!
If you are so inclined, I would appreciate any financial support you are willing to give to help keep this pirate ship afloat! Doing all this work takes time, effort, and money! There are a number of options like opting in for the $5 per month subscription, the $50 per year subscription, going to my twitter profile and clicking the tip button, or just DM’ing me and we can figure something out!
Unlike some other folks who make sports picks, I do not delete picks when they lose or when I change how I do things so all of those old posts are still up in my archive and you can find them if you want to!
