Monmouth Park Racetrack - Haskell
Welcome to Haskell race day!!! As someone who grew up in the Great State of New Jersey, this a big day for me especially given that I lived on the train line that bifurcates the barns at Monmouth1 (NJCL represent! haha).
This is made even more fun as this year’s Haskell will be our first chance to see what is likely the best 3 yr old (Jack Christopher) against the crop we have seen race for the triple crown.
Now, let me get this out of the way - while Monmouth Park Racetrack is one of the most historic courses in the country (it was opened in 1870) the place shows its age and not in a good way.
I also want to make clear that my picks recently have not been great (though we did hit $1k in P5 and P4 the other day). Pair that with the fact that Monmouth has always been a bit of a hit or miss place for me SOOOOO my advice would be that if you have the time and ability you might want to either lay the first few races of action and see how that goes and if I am close then keep going ORRRRRR just wait to see how those go before placing action.
No real changes bc if scratches
Race-by-Race Analysis:
8, 4, 3, 6
2, 4, 5, 7
5, 7, 3, 1 ← this should be a fantastic race
6, 3, 7, 2
11, 12, 8, 2, 7
8, 7, 4, 9 ← I really just do not like the 1 and 2
10, 4, 7, 6
6, 7, 3, 4 ← I think this is essentially a 2 horse race
7, 5, 2, 6, 4 ← this is wide open
3, 7, 5, 4
10, 3, 4, 1
7, 2, 6, 1, 4 ← We finally see JC against the other top 3 yr olds and I think it is highly likely that he is the fav by post. Will be interesting to see if he can go this distance.
