Recap - The Masters
End of round 1: As I tend to say - there is a LOT of golf left, but honestly it is hard to be unhappy with where we stand. Short of having a guy actually on the lead or having had Tiger shoot under par, we got pretty much everything we could have hoped for today from our outright guys, placements, and matchups. Keep in mind, there is rain expected tomorrow, but I believe it should be late enough that everyone gets through R2 so let’s hope we get more of the same!
End of round 2: Well we got a bunch of our matches done and dusted and that’s a good thing. We also cashed all of our cut bets (even if one was by the skin of our asses, thanks Tiger). All of our guys for placement bets and outright have made the cut. Let’s see if we can get someone to go low on moving day and get a little lucky so we can have a fun sweat for tomorrow (Sunday).
Masters Recap: What a win by Jon Rahm!!! A very deserving champions and glad it was’t one of the LIV guys who were hanging around. We had a profit, but a very tiny one. It seemed after Round 2 that we would have a shot at a nice one but all of our outright picks, even those who got a little bit frisky on Sunday, all fell away and never really threatened. The really annoying this was the fact that we had so many guys in prime position for our placement bets to see them piss down their legs on Sunday (looking at you Jason Day). Oh well. On to Harbour Town!
NOTE: I will not have a newsletter next week as the Zurich Open is an odd event that I do not handicap.
RBC Heritage
The PGA Tour leaves Augusta, Georgia, and travels 144 miles southeast to Hilton Head Island1, South Carolina to visit Harbour Town Golf Links. This Pete Dye-designed course plays2 to a par 71 across 7,191 yards and has a really cool wall with plaques for each of the past winners (picture I took last August below).
One thing that is very noteworthy is that even though this tournament is being played the week after the Masters it is an elevated event so while this tournament usually has an okay field, this year, it has many of the Top 50 players in the world in the 138-person field.
The 2022 edition saw Jordan Spieth win for the first time in 12.5 months when he shot -13 and beat Patrick Cantlay in a playoff. The 2021 edition saw Stweart Cink (-19) capture his 3rd RBC Heritage title when he topped Emiliano Grillo and HV3 by 4 strokes, and 2020 saw Webb Simpson (-22) capture his 1st RBC title when he beat Abe Ancer by 1 stroke.
The event’s 72-hole record is -22 (262) which was shot by Webb Simpson in 2020. Davis Love III has the record for RBC Heritage titles with 5 victories. Speith will attempt to become the 4th man to defend his title in this event after DL3, Payne Stewart, and Boo Weekley.
For outright, please make sure to read the footnote this week as it is important.

Gamblers Paradise Discord
I know I talk about joining the Gamblers Paradise discord every week, but here are two more reasons
#1 - I am holding back 1u of risk from my card to try and pull off some multiplier parlays in an experiment I am running. You ask, what does that mean? Well, I will be releasing the plays on the discord, and here is one of the ones I did last week:
#2 - We have added Philthy and his AMAZING baseball picks every day! You have to come to check them out as they are (like everything here) 100% free and he has had a smashing start to the MLB season!
So yes, you really need to hit this button to come to join us as I already have dropped one of them!
Open Championship Future
I am opening a 0.5u futures bet for the Open Championship on Viktor Hovland +2800. I have always admired Hovland’s approach game, but his work around the green was always a problem for me.
He has clearly put in a ton of work and it was on full display last week at Augusta. I think Royal Liverpool is a course setup that should work for his eye and he faired well in the crappy weather last week so I like the Norwegian’s chance at The Open!
Daily Fantasy
Last week I risked $40 and returned $101!!!
I have gone on long enough and I am going to rest on my laurels for this and see you back in Charlotte in a few weeks!
Good luck with all your action!
NOTE: I will not have a newsletter next week as the Zurich Open is an odd event that I do not handicap.
If you have never been, Hilton Head is a really great place for a family vacation! It is a place that I have gone to many times and there are tons of things to do for families with kids of all ages. If you have been there or are planning on going, I am more than happy to suggest places to go and stay, just DM me.
Yes, get ready to keep hearing this over and over again
I am going quasi-one and done this week with Scottie and a couple longer shots, but as I will talk about in the section where I talk about Gamblers Paradise Discord, this week I am holding 1u back to target Cam Young, Scottie, Tony Finau, and maybe even Cantlay with some parlay boosts for the experiment I am trying.
