Recap - the Memorial
As we got to the end of Round 3, I honestly started to do something that is VERY dangerous as a gambler and that is to dream. We were sitting quite pretty with our guys in contention, especially with Si Woo 60-1 tied for the lead, and sitting at a 3-1-1 record on match-ups. I was hoping that this was a repeat of last year’s 65-1 Horschel win and I should have known better.
Last year we went to bed with Billy Hoho holding a sizable lead and hoping he could hold on, which he did. This year Sunday seemed to do nothing but go against us. Our match-ups almost all went badly, including guys shooting +8 and +9 in the final round, the player with the best R4 scoring average on tour going +6 in the final round to fall down to T30, and our guy Si Woo bogeying his first 3 holes……
Then our guy Viktor (who is glad we got him 28-1 in The Open? Me too!) came through!!! What a great win for him and for us! It is so nice to have picked the winner 2 years in-a-row in Ohio and I hope we can make it a three-peat next year!
RBC Canadian Open
The PGA Tour returns to Canada for the 117th playing of the Canadian National Championship. This tournament moves around each year and this edition will be contested at Oakdale Golf and Country Club, near Toronto, for the first time1.
This club boasts three 9-hole courses so they will be creating a composite course that incorporates holes from all three that will play to a par of 72 and is about 7,260 yards in length. This course has an odd setup with only 3 par-5s and 12 par-4s. The front nine is far harder than the back 9, which should yield plenty of birdies.
This course is a traditional tree-lined parkland-style course over rolling hills and, situated in a suburb of a major city. It was started in the 1920’s by the Toronto Jewish community, who like their neighbors in the US, struggled to join clubs due to their religious beliefs. This course underwent a major overhaul in 2018 when Ian Andrew worked to bring consistency to the three courses and it also just completed another multi-million dollar renovation.
The 2022 championship saw Rory McIlroy (which we hit at 10-1 odds) capture his 2nd Canadian Open title2 when he shot -19 and beat Tony Finau by 2 strokes. The 2019 edition saw Rory (10-1 odds) capture his first Canadian title when shot a 72-hole record 258 (-22) to breeze by Shane Lowry and Webb Simpson by 7 strokes, and 2018 saw Dustin Johnson (-23) win as an 11-2 favorite when he rolled to a 3 stoke victory over Benny An and Whee Kim.
The event’s 72-hole-to-par record is -25 shot by Johnny Palmer in 1952 when he won by an astounding 11 strokes. Rory McIlroy will be looking to join Lee Trevino, Sam Sneed, and Tommy Armour as individuals who have won this tournament 3 times, but the record holder Leo Diegel, who won the Canadian Open 4 times, will still be at the top.
One thing we must remember is that this tournament is the week before the US Open and the tournament before a major can always have some surprising results (it always seems like a big name misses the cut) so make sure you keep that in mind.

Daily Fantasy
For those unfamiliar with Daily Fantasy, this is a game you can play (I use Draft Kings) where they give you a budget and use allocate that budget to golfers and use their scoring criteria to try and win money. The dollar values you see below are the “salaries” for each golfer I select. You can mirror what I do, do your own thing, or do some combo and as always I am just showing what I am doing, and is good for me.
I am going to take a pass this week again.
Good luck with all your action!
This will be the 37th course to host the tournament and this is the first time this course has hosted any professional event
He technically defended his title as the 2020 and 2021 Canadian Opens were not played due to COVID 19
For my parlays this week, I am going to try to add another 0.5u of risk to Hatton, I will also look to get some exposure to Cam Young and maybe add a little to my Theegala position
Just after I hit publish Sam Stevens made his way through the longest day in golf and qualified for the US Open so he dropped out of this tournament.
A round 11am ET on June 7th the PGA Tour announced the Bramlett had withdrawn from the tournament
